Speaker Topics:
Session 1: How to answer the question, "Is [some food] healthy?"
Is fish healthy? What about dairy? Many health experts recommend them, but does that mean they're good for us? In this talk, we'll learn to see the value of foods on a continuum rather than the grossly oversimplified black-and-white picture we get with clickbait news. The question, "Is this healthy?" begs the follow-up question "Compared to what?" That's what we'll explore.
Session 2: Build muscle mass, strength, and endurance by eating plant-based
Do we need meat and animal products to get bigger and stronger? Can eat plant-based support muscle mass and strength gains as effectively as diets built around meat, dairy, and eggs? How do plant-based diets affect endurance? This talk applies to casual gym-goers and recreational runners, committed weightlifters and competitive athletes, and everyone in between.
